Selected Works from The Basement Tapes
|| Volume One // Dec '09 - Jul '10 ||

Volume 1, as documented by a trusty handheld camera, presents the first in what was planned to be a series of releases. Taken from four dates, spanning late 2009 through summer 2010, "Selected Works..." opens with what was originally jammed as an instrumental opening to the track "High". From the trio of guitar, drums and bass, we segway into an improv from July with vocals, split into three parts purely for navigational reasons, the track features - for better or worse - no edits [just a fade-in due to 'record' having been pressed several seconds into the best part of a 22minute jam]. An expert ear may recognise the origin of a bassline that went on to become the track "Tramlines" later in the year. The final track here is of interest for it having been jammed immediately after the December recording session documented on EP2009, featuring a hidden track which may be familiar to some...

After months of road-testing songs, their self-produced debut album was left unfinished in June 2011. What remains is a tantalising glimpse of what was... ... more
